![]() ![]() They will hit it on the fall! The fall is the most important aspect of this bait. There are three techniques to fishing the Flutter Spoon, but all three will have the same bite. This will reduce line twist and also allow the bait to rotate in the fish’s mouth, helping you get more bass in the boat. You will also want to put a high quality barrel swivel on the split ring at the nose of the spoon. The longer rod is key for a long cast and getting a good hook set. I use a Dobyns Extreme 784, which is a 7’8″ medium heavy rod. ![]() ![]() You want a low stretch line or even braid, I mainly use LFT’s FluoroHybrid Pro in 17-20 lb. If you see active arks that are coming up after the bait fish, the Flutter Spoon will be killer! Just to keep it simple, try supplementing a spoon into your regular off shore spots in situations you would throw a deep diving crankbait or swimbait.įishing the Flutter Spoon is really easy once you get it set up with the right gear. Use your electronics to find bait fish or groups of other game fish like white bass on these areas. Those are the most common places to throw the spoons, but I have caught fish on floating docks, bridge pilings, and grass lines as well. Key places to throw the spoon are off shore humps, long extended points, ledges, road beds and even creek channel bends.
